Louisville basketball is one of the top landing spots in the nation, and the Cardinals are going all-in on the class of 2026. Head coach Pat Kelsey has immediately made an impact on this program, landing 5-star recruit Mikel Brown Jr., the second-highest commit in Louisville basketball history.

The Cardinals are expected to improve significantly next season, as they brought in three elite playmakers to join Brown and company. Kelsey and his team are showing that they also have their eyes set on the future, as the Cardinals have been visiting multiple 5-stars in the class of 2026 all off-season.

In the latest report, Louisville is visiting the 5-star combo guard Ikenna Alozie at his school today, according to 247Sports' Dushawn London.

The 5-star recruit out of Glendale, Ariz., is ranked as high as the No. 10 player in the nation, the No. 1 player out of the state of Arizona, and the No. 2 shooting guard in the 2026 class, per ESPN. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 1 combo guard as well.

Alozie has received over 22 offers, including the Cardinals' offer in October 2024. According to On3 Sports predictions, the University of Washington has a massive lead, as the Huskies have a 54.4 percent chance to land the nation's No. 10 best player in the respective class.

The 6-foot-2 guard has a 6-foot-6 wingspan, has elite ball-handling skills, and likes to play downhill. His speed, mixed with his ability to finish through contact, is a glaring reason why this recruit is emerging as a top target for Kelsey and the Cardinals.

Louisville has made over 21 offers in the class of 2026 but has yet to land a commitment. In recent news, the Cardinals have visited two 5-star recruits, Deron Rippey Jr. and Abdou Toure. The Cardinals also discovered they made 5-star Anthony Thompson's top 15 schools.
