Louisville basketball is scheduled to face Virginia Tech this Saturday in a marquee ACC matchup. The Cardinals and the Hokies are both trending toward March Madness teams, as Louisville is projected to be a No. 6 seed and Virginia Tech is sitting right on the bubble at the moment.

The Cardinals and Hokies were scheduled to tip off at 3:45 p.m. local time inside the KFC Yum! Center, but due to extreme weather expected this weekend, the game has been moved to a new tip-off time of 2:15 local time.

The city of Louisville is expected to receive around 8 inches of snow on Saturday, with some projecting up to a foot. The broadcast will remain the same on The CW Network.

Louisville basketball looks to carry the momentum into Saturday against Virginia Tech

The Cardinals and Hokies showdown is a crucial matchup as Virginia Tech has won three of its last four, and sits 4-3 in its ACC play. With Virginia Tech losing on multiple gut-wrenching buzzer beaters, their game with Louisville emerges as a prime opportunity to try to earn a key win on the road.

On the other side, Louisville is trying to climb up the rankings and build its resume. Louisville is coming off one of its largest wins of the season as the Cardinals defeated Pitt 100-49. The Cards are trying to end their midseason skid, as they are 4-4 in their last eight games, largely due to the absence of Mikel Brown Jr.

Louisville got some promising news on Brown this morning as Kelsey announced he was practicing Monday and Tuesday, and Louisville plans to “ramp” up his production the next few days. Louisville fans are unsure when he will return, but the Cardinals fans will get the first injury report for Saturday’s game on Friday night.

The Cardinals and Hokies are among four games affected by the inclement weather, as ACC fans saw Wake Forest vs. Duke, North Carolina vs. Virginia, and North Carolina State vs. Pitt will all tip off at noon.
