Louisville basketball is taking on the Miami Hurricanes tomorrow in a huge ACC showdown to end the regular season. The Cardinals will look to snap their three-game losing streak on the road, as well as secure their first win on the road over a ranked team.

Louisville has a huge opportunity in this final game of the season to earn the program's first Quad 1A win of the season, as Louisville is currently 0-8 in Quad 1A games. Right now, Louisville is 0-6 against current ranked teams and 2-6 against ranked teams when they play.

With the Hurricanes ranked No. 22, Louisville will look to capitalize on this opportunity and earn a huge win on the road. For Louisville to earn this massive win, it must take advantage of a glaring Miami weakness: the Hurricanes' 3-point defense.

Louisville basketball must exploit Miami’s glaring weakness

The Cardinals are known to live and die by the 3-point line, and if Louisville wants to earn a win tomorrow, they must get hot from downtown. When Louisville fans look at the Hurricanes' six losses, they will quickly realize the Canes struggled on defense, especially beyond the arc.

Louisville is averaging 33 3-pointers per game, and in a game like tomorrow's, they need to shoot at a high rate to win. In the Hurricanes' six losses, Miami’s opponents are shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc, including their last loss to Virginia, where the Cavaliers shot 50 percent on 24 shots from downtown.

Mikel Brown Jr.’s status remains unknown, but Louisville must find a way to connect from downtown tomorrow, whether that is from Isaac McKneely, who shoots at a 39.1 percent rate from beyond the arc, or Ryan Conwell, who leads the team with 98 3-pointers on the season, shooting 35.1 percent from 3-point range.

If Louisville can shoot similar to that 42 percent from downtown and splash around their average of 12 3-pointers, then Louisville fans will feel confident they can earn a win. However, if the Cardinals' struggles continue on the road from beyond the arc, it will be an uphill battle for Louisville to earn its first Quad 1A win of the season.
