The Louisville Cardinals women's basketball team has earned six commitments this offseason, three from the transfer portal and three from the class of 2025. Jeff Walz's newest addition was Ukrainian center Yevheniia Putra.
The 6-foot-3 center will bring elite experience to the Cardinals squad and hopes to elevate Walz's Cardinals to the next level. Putra averaged 8.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game last season for MBK Ruzomberok in Slovakia. Louisville will have seven players return from last year's squad, making Putra the 13th scholarship player on the roster.

Louisville football jumped by ACC rival
Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals football program saw their odds skyrocket for the ACC Title, as they now have the third-best odds to win the ACC crown. The Cardinals were recently ranked as high as the 16th-best team in the nation in USA Today's way-too-early rankings.
However, ESPN sees things much differently. ESPN ranked Louisville football No. 20 in their first way-too-early rankings, but in their post-spring way-too-early rankings, the Cards dropped two spots to No. 22 and were jumped by Carson Beck's Miami Hurricanes.

ACC basketball power rankings
College basketball experts expect the ACC to improve significantly from last season. The ACC has two programs with a legitimate shot at winning the 2026 National Championship and is projected to have multiple teams in the NCAA Tournament.
The offseason is the prime time for fans of all programs to make their case for their favorite team and preach why next year is their year. The ACC has 18 teams in the conference, but only 15 can make the tournament, meaning it is time to make some fans realize their season is over before it even begins.
While college basketball fans love to dream in the offseason, we are here to shut down any false hope for five ACC programs. Yesterday, we listed five ACC teams that are in the "No Chance" tier to win the conference in 2025.
