Louisville football's 2025 season just took a massive hit from their gut-wrenching overtime loss, as the Cardinals now will have a huge uphill battle the rest of the season. Entering the showdown with the Virginia Cavaliers, the Cardinals were 6.5-point favorites, but Louisville's costly turnovers cost them the game, and in some eyes, their season.

The Cardinals had the third-best odds to win the ACC entering Saturday, with +950 odds, but after Louisville's loss, the Cardinals' fans saw their chances plummet. FanDuel updated its odds after Saturday's showdowns, and Miami and Virginia saw their odds skyrocket, but Louisville, unfortunately, is being given a harsh reality check.

The Miami Hurricanes are now a dominant favorite after another impressive win. The Hurricanes are solidifying themselves as the clear frontrunner to win the ACC, as Miami sits No. 3 in the nation with a 5-0 record, including three wins over ranked teams at the time. They now have -220 odds to win the ACC, with Georgia Tech behind them with the following best odds at +500.

Behind the Yellow Jackets are the Cavaliers after their win over Louisville with +1000 odds. As for the Cardinals, they dropped all the way to +3000 odds, as their gruesome schedule is telling bettors and fans that it is a long shot for them to make a run back to Charlotte and the ACC Championship game.

Louisville still has to play Miami, SMU, Clemson, and Virginia Tech this season. Unfortunately, the Cardinals have to play all their games on the road, except for the Tigers. For the Cardinals to make an ACC run in 2025, it was crucial to show up to Miami undefeated, but now, after the loss, the Vegas oddsmakers are telling the Cardinals fans their next showdown is going to make or break the season.

A win and their season is alive, but a loss, and the Cardinals are going to be well behind Miami, Georgia Tech, and Virginia. The Cardinals are off next week and travel to Hard Rock Stadium for a season-saving showdown.
