One of Louisville basketball's top targets in the 2026 recruiting class, Josh Irving, will announce his commitment tomorrow, October 23, at noon ET on the CBS Sports College Basketball Channel.

The Cardinals have struck out on many 2026 recruits, but Irving recently put the Cards in just his final three, giving Louisville some hope on these high school superstars. The Cardinals are going up against Kentucky and Texas A&M, after he cut San Diego State, SMU, Kansas, USC, and others.

Now, the Cardinals look to build some momentum from their recent commitment from London Johnson and splash their biggest commitment yet.

Josh Irving will announce his decision tomorrow afternoon

The Cardinals have yet to land the high school superstar that the fans have been wanting. Johnson was a big-time grab for Louisville, but he is 21 years old and has played three years in the G-League. The fans have had their eyes on many high school prospects, and after striking out on Colben Landrew and Taylen Kinney, Irving has emerged as one of their top targets.

All three schools have earned an official visit, and all three schools have "warmer" next to their name in Irving's 247Sports recruiting profile. However, On3 Sports has Texas A&M as a dominant favorite with an 89.8 percent chance of earning his commitment, but that was before he cut his list down to three.

Irving is an elite recruit who ranks as high as No. 51 in the nation and the No. 4 center in the high school class. He is an athletic big man who can protect the rim and soar through the air for some electrifying dunks. While he has to improve his jump shot, his potential is through the roof.

Louisville fans anxiously await his decision, as this commitment could be the one that completely flips the script and helps Kelsey land more 4- and 5-star recruits from the 2026 class.
