It was reported earlier this week that Louisville football is one of the top teams in the running for former 5-star recruit and Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola. The Cardinals have gone the Transfer Portal route every season under Jeff Brohm, and it feels like that won’t change this year. Louisville gave Miller Moss a shot this past offseason, but it is safe to say that experiment didn’t go as planned, and now with the USC transfer graduating, Brohm is swining for the fences this offseason.
The Transfer Portal will be open from January 2 through January 16, and before it opens, analysts will try to predict where Raiola and others will go. Raiola is immediatley one of the top targets in the portal, and with Louisville linked to the elite quarterback, the fans are all-in on his recruitment. Louisville is one of many teams that reached out to Raiola, and while some are trying to link the star quarterback to Oregon and Texas Tech, others say he won’t be going to these powerhouse programs.
Oregon analyst states the Ducks are out on Raiola
Louisville fans have been dreaming of a quarterback with his skill and star power, and with the Cards linked to him from the beginning, they are following his recruiting process daily. It was reported that the Cardinals reached out to Raiola and contacted him once he hit the portal, and while many thought Oregon and Texas Tech would be in the mix, it turns out they aren’t interested in the 4-star transfer.
Almost every analyst has reported that the Red Raiders aren’t interested in Raiola and aren't in the race, but hearing that Oregon isn’t interested is a new development. Pete Nakos recently stated the Ducks would be interested in Raiola if Dante Moore does declare for the NFL Draft, but an Oregon analyst believes the Ducks are out and aren’t interested in Raiola.
When the news broke that Louisville is in the mix and Texas Tech is not, On3 analyst Justin Hopkins put out a short, to-the-point post on Oregon's status, stating, “Neither is Oregon.”

Now, if the Oregon analyst is correct, this would be a huge update for Louisville and the race for Raiola. When the Nebraska transfer announced he would enter the portal, the Ducks were immediatley one of the top landing spots, and On3 even reported he would stay in the Big Ten if an opportunity presented itself.
Moore and his decision have a massive say for the Ducks, as if he declares for the draft, they will need a new QB, but if he stays, they will, of course, keep him as their starter. However, even if he does declare for the draft, a reporter like Hopkins wouldn’t just report that Oregon isn’t interested, because he understands there is a good chance Moore will declare.
So, with Texas Tech out and now possibly Oregon out of the mix for Raiola, Brohm and the Cardinals look to gain momentum and try to bring the No. 2 overall transfer to Louisville. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but on January 2 or shortly after, Louisville fans and all college football fans will learn where the coveted Nebraska transfer will commit and where his next chapter will begin.
