Louisville football is taking on the SMU Mustangs in an ACC showdown. The Cardinals are on a two-game losing streak and will look to snap that losing streak and pick up their fifth ACC win in their final ACC showdown. The Cardinals are going to have to secure their eighth win of the season severely undermanned.
Louisville is without star running backs Isaac Brown and Keyjuan Brown, and just hours before kickoff, the Cards learned they will be without Miller Moss. The USC transfer has had quite an up-and-down season, and now, in their last ACC showdown, he is out with a foot injury, and Louisville will turn to redshirt freshman Deuce Adams.
While some may be concerned about losing this game now with an inexperienced freshman, the Louisville fans made it clear they are happy Adams is getting a chance and are excited to give him an opportunity.
Louisville fans excited for Deuce Adams first start
Adams has had minimal experience so far this season, as he threw the ball just four times before this game. The 3-star freshman has the strongest arm on the team and has the ability to run the ball and use his legs to break free for some extra yards.
Moss has had a roller coaster of a season, leading Louisville to beat Pitt and Miami, but he also struggles with his progressions. If Moss has to go past his first read or is pressured, he has a hard time making the right play and struggles to throw the ball deep. With the Cards falling in their last two games, they are out of the ACC Championship race, and the Cards fans made it clear they are all-in on Adams getting the nod today and are excited to see what he brings.

The fans, of course, want Louisville to win, but they have been screaming to see Adams at QB over Moss for weeks now. After the Cardinals' loss to Cal after being 18.5-point favorites, the fans have been wanting something different, and now they finally have a chance to see what this freshman can do.
Brohm has shown he loves the portal for quarterbacks, as he has gone that route every year with Louisville, and these last two games will give Brohm a good opportunity to see Adams' potential and whether he wants to return to the Transfer Portal this offseason.
