Louisville basketball has yet to receive a commitment in the 2026 cycle, but a massive 5-star target, Pat Kelsey, has just announced his commitment date, and all of Cardinal Nation is holding their breath.
The Cardinals are the favorite to land a few 5-stars at the moment, including the nation's No. 1 recruit, Tyran Stokes. Kelsey is emerging as one of the top recruiters in the nation, and while they haven't landed a 2026 commitment yet, they may do so sooner than some may think.
It might be a long shot, but 5-star shooting guard Jason Crowe Jr. announced over the holiday weekend that he will make his commitment on July 18, despite not having a finalist list yet.

The 5-star guard is ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation and the No. 1 point guard, per ESPN. He also ranked as the No. 3 shooting guard in the 2026 cycle, per On3 Sports. The Cardinals have just a 3 percent chance, according to On3 Sports predictions, and USC has a dominant 53.0 percent chance after landing a couple of unofficial visits.
It's a long shot for Louisville to land Crowe's commitment, but it's worth keeping an eye on for Louisville fans. The Cardinals have already landed in 5-star point guard Ikenna Alozie's top eight and are favorites to land 5-star guard Tay Kinney.
