Louisville football is seeing more players enter the Transfer Portal as another key name joins. With an already thin wide receiver room ahead of tomorrow’s portal opening, the situation worsens. TreyShun Hurry enters the portal after one season with the Cardinals.

He transferred from San Jose State to Louisville after spending his first two seasons at Weber State. In his career, he has 1,014 receiving yards and 74 catches, including this past season with the Cardinals, where he logged 15 catches for 122 yards and one touchdown. He started in 10 games this season and played in all 13, and was sixth on the team in catches and seventh in receiving yards.

The Cards' offense is taking a massive blow this offseason, as they have lost Isaac Brown, Duke Watson, Nate Kurisky, and Hurry to the portal. And on top of that, they have also lost Chris Bell, Caullin Lacy, and Miller Moss to eligibility. Louisville fans were expecting this offseason to be a bit hectic, but with Hurry, Bell, and Lacy all gone, Louisville has to go all-in on wide receivers in the portal.

Louisville's thin WR room just took biggest blow to the portal

While Hurry wasn’t the biggest playmaker on the outside for the Cardinals in 2025, he had the opportunity to be one of the top receivers in 2026. The Cardinals' wide receiver room continues to get thinner as Louisville will lose its two stars in Bell and Lacy due to eligibility and the NFL Draft. After those two, Dacari Collins and Antonio Meeks will also graduate, and now Hurry will join Kris Hughes and one of their top tight ends, Kurisky, in the portal.

That means Louisville will lose six of its top seven receivers from the 2025 season and seven of its top nine. The only one on the team for next season as of now is tight end Jaleel Skinner. Just counting wide receivers, Louisville is losing all seven of its wide receivers who earned a catch and receiving yards in the 2025 season.

This Cardinals offense suddenly needs a starting quarterback, wide receivers, depth on the offensive line, and running back depth. Hurry is the 17th Cardinal to enter the portal. The Transfer Portal will open up tomorrow, Jan. 2, and will remain open for 14 days.
