This is a recruiting win that Louisville football head coach Jeff Brohm is going to enjoy for quite some time. It's not every single day that Brohm and the Cardinals are able to beat out elite programs across the country for a touted recruit, but the culture he continues to build on campus is turning heads.

Just ask 4-star wide receiver Payton Cook about that. On Thursday, the wideout decided that enough was enough and that it was time for him to shut down his recruitment. In some major news for Brohm, the touted WR has committed to Louisville. Yup, this is a big-time get for the program:

4-star WR Payton Cook has committed to Louisville and Jeff Brohm

This indeed is an exciting verbal for Brohm and his staff, as Cook was a touted playmaker. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked four stars, the No. 46 wide receiver in the country, No. 13 prospect out of Ohio and No. 284 player nationally.

Throughout his recruitment, he picked up offers from Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Boston College, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Rutgers and others. As you can see, plenty of schools were in on him in hopes of landing a commitment, but it's Louisville which has gotten that job done.

Brohm is putting together a fantastic '26 class, as he and his staff are already up to 12 pledges for the group. It's ranked No. 7 in the country, which sure is fantastic. Cook will now hope to help the staff with some recruiting efforts to keep the class growing.

This past season, Louisville went 9-4 in Brohm's second year leading his alma mater. The campaign ended with a thrilling 35-34 win over Washington in the Sun Bowl. The future is looking bright for this team and landing Cook only adds to the excitement of what's to come down the road.
