Louisville football struggled offensively last night against James Madison, and the fans are beginning to worry about the Cardinals' offensive line. The Cardinals didn't give up a sack in their last 14 quarters going back to their 2024 season, but last night their inexperience and newcomers got exposed as they gave up three sacks for 18 yards.
The Cardinals improve to 2-0 on the season, but last night, Louisville fans received a harsh reality check, realizing that this team must improve in many areas if they want to achieve ACC glory and return to Charlotte. The main area is their offensive line. The fans and head coach Jeff Brohm were underwhelmed by the group's performance last night and made it clear they must step up as the season progresses.

Louisville football fans underwhelmed by offensive line
The Cardinals' offensive line had a game to forget. However, Brohm took the blame after the game and stated that they weren't expecting the number of blitzes and the intensity with which they were being sent. However, the fans were all over social media last night about how underwhelming this offensive line performance was, and they were right, as it made both Isaac Brown and Miller Moss struggle through the majority of the game.
Louisville allows a sack for the first time since the 3rd quarter of the 37-9 win vs. Pittsburgh last season.

No matter what happens the rest of this game, the story of Louisville’s offensive line being buried isn’t going away.

Louisville defense gets a healthy A tonight, they won us this game tonight. The offensive line (offense in general) needs some real WORK.

Moss was bull rushed the entire game and was given minimal time when he would drop back for a pass. The front line didn't provide the transfer quarterback much of an opportunity to develop a passing game, and caused him to finish the game 13-of-23 for 151 yards and a touchdown.
As for the running game, Brown finished the game with 12 carries for 104 yards, but the truth is, he struggled mightily as there was not much for him to do, as Duke's defenders quickly swarmed him. The Cardinals generated a total of 264 yards, but outside of the Cardinals' two explosive plays from Bell and Brown, they totaled just 122 yards.
A win is a win, and Louisville fans are happy to see the Cardinals 2-0, but they are quickly realizing if they want to reach their potential and compete for an ACC Title, then this offensive line has to give Moss some time to pass, and Brown some holes to attack.
