Louisville football lands its second quarterback of the Transfer Portal as West Georgia transfer Davin Wydner just committed to Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals. The quarterback position is, of course, one the Cards need to target these last few days of the portal, as Louisville had only two quarterbacks on the depth chart before Wydner committed.
Louisville landed Ohio State transfer Lincoln Kienholz earlier this offseason, as the former 4-star recruit is expected to be Brohm’s starting quarterback next season. Also on the depth chart is 4-star 2026 commitment, Briggs Cherry. Brohm and Louisville fans have high expectations for Cherry as the Tennessee native is now a consensus 4-star and continues to climb up the 2026 rankings, as he is now as high as the No. 18 QB in the class.
Joining Cherry and Kienholz is the Cards' newest commitment and West Georgia transfer.

Louisville football adds much-needed depth with latest portal addition
The newest addition to Louisville’s quarterback room started his college career at Ole Miss as a non-scholarship player, but after not earning any reps or time on the field, he transferred to West Georgia after two seasons.
Wydner completed 56.3 percent of his 263 passes while throwing for 1,672 yards and 15 touchdowns. He showed off his ability to be a dual-threat quarterback as the 6-foot-5, 225-pound quarterback ran for 441 yards and three touchdowns on 110 carries. In 2024, he finished with nine passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns, throwing for 1,718 yards and completing 62.0 percent of his 229 pass attempts.
Wydner was a dominant quarterback in high school, throwing for an astounding 3,529 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior and 2,785 yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior. He finished his high school career with a combined 7,917 passing yards, 954 rushing yards, 57 passing yards, and 15 rushing touchdowns.
He commits to Louisville ranked as the No. 1,519 transfer and the No. 107 quarterback in the Transfer Portal.
