Louisville football's offseason is starting to amp up quickly, as the Cardinals brought in two more additions from the spring transfer portal yesterday. The Cardinals have seen six players exit this portal window, with the deadline quickly approaching.
The spring transfer portal deadline is tomorrow evening, meaning any player who plans to enter the portal must submit their paperwork before 11:59 p.m. ET. Head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff have done a solid job attacking their team's glaring weakness so far, as the Cardinals have now picked up two wide receivers, a tight end, and a defensive end.
The Cardinals will shift their focus to the defensive back area, as the fans are naming that position their glaring weakness. However, before we break down the needs, let's take a look at the two under-the-radar players Louisville football landed yesterday.

Louisville football heats up transfer portal hunt with two key additions
The first player to commit yesterday was Justin Beadles, the New Mexico State defensive end. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound edge rusher is an excellent pickup for this Cardinals defense. The edge rusher had his best collegiate season last year after securing 20 tackles, 10 solos, and four tackles for a loss. He also picked up half a sack last season and was one of the best edge rushers for the Aggies.
After Beadles committed, Louisville got a commitment from the Utah transfer, C.J. Louisville Lands Utah Transfer TE C.J. Jacobsen. The Cardinals desperately needed a tight end this offseason as they saw two tight ends leave in the portal, and their top tight end, Mark Redman, from last season graduated.
Jacobsen hasn't had any stats in his college career so far, but Louisville needs options and depth right now. The glaring reason this was a must-have signing was that it was a good safety net signing. Hopefully, the Cardinals can still target some of the best tight ends available to secure their TE1, but if they strike out, they have a solid three-person rotation in their tight end room with Jaleel Skinner and Nate Kurisky returning.

As the portal deadline approaches, the Cardinals are quickly beginning to catch fire and bringing in much-needed depth in some areas. The Cardinals securing two wide receivers was an excellent pick-up, and adding more depth to the tight end area was something fans were begging for.
Now, Brohm and his staff must secure a ball-hawk or a lockdown CB1 to help this defense compete with Miami, Clemson, and SMU.
