Louisville football jumps Michigan and Auburn for elite 4-star safety

Louisville football got quite possibly its best recruiting news of the offseason late yesterday, as Chad Simmons of On3 Recruits report sent Cardinals nation spiraling out of control with excitement.

Jeff Brohm and his Cardinals are now heavy favorites to land one of their main prospects in the class of 2026, Jaydin Broadnax, according to Simmons. The Boca Raton, Fla. native is one of the top safeties in his class, as he is listed at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds.

Just recently, Louisville football found out they are one of Broadnax's top seven schools, as the other six in contention for this highly-recruited safety include, Florida State, Syracuse, Michigan, South Florida, Auburn, and Florida.

Well, more good news to Cardinals nation as now On3 reports that Louisville isn't just favored over these SEC, and Big 10 giants, but they are heavily favorite. On3 gives the Cardinals now a whopping 86.7% chance to land this unanimous 4-star athlete.

Jeff Brohm and his coaching staff found out just a little over a week ago that they are landing a crucial visit with Broadnax on June 20 of this summer. The only other official visit announced is to Auburn University on May 30.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound safety currently is ranked 316 in the nation, and 25 in his position, per On3. Rivals sees him just a little bit better than On3, as they have him No. 234 in class of 2026, 33 in state of Florida, and 17 in his position, However, ESPN has him ranked the highest at 199 nationally, No. 20 in his position, and 32 in the state of Florida.

The star prospect has 87 tackles, three interception, and 22 pass deflections in his high school career. He made a name for himself in his junior season where he had 38 tackles and 12 pass deflections and an interception, and in his sophomore campaign he logged 49 tackles, two interceptions, 10 pass deflection, a blocked punt and two fumble recovers.
