Louisville football learned some crushing news earlier this week that its star linebacker, Stanquan Clark, is going to miss "several games" from his lower-body injury that occurred in the Cardinals' Week 2 win over James Madison. Clark's injury is a massive blow to this defense, as he is not only a dominant force on the defensive side of the ball but also a team leader.

Now, Louisville's defense will turn to TJ Caper, the former 5-star recruit, to step up and take that massive leap that the fans have been anxiously awaiting. On the positive side, Louisville fans opened their social media on Wednesday night and saw a massive update from their starting offensive tackle, Tyrone Sylvester, who has been sidelined for the first two games of the 2025 season.

Tyrone Sylvester provides crucial injury update

The Cardinals' offensive line has been one of the most concerning areas throughout the first two weeks of the 2025 season, but it appears they will get a crucial player back after their bye week. Sylvester was the Cardinals' projected starting tackle entering the 2025 season, but missed the first two games due to an undisclosed injury.

However, the third-year Cardinal went to his social media and posted four pictures of himself playing in a Louisville uniform and included the caption "See ya’ll real soon," implying he will be back on the field sooner rather than later.

The Houston transfer played in 11 games last season for Louisville and started in eight of those games for Brohm. He will provide some experience and leadership for this offensive line as he earned 244 pass block snaps last season, and gave up just one sack and 14 pressures.

There has been no official announcement of an update from Brohm or the program on when he will return, but this post certainly has the fans believing he will be available for the Cardinals' massive ACC showdown against Pitt on September 27.

With Louisville having a bye this week, it is crucial for this team to get healthy and to get its best players on the field when the ACC games start. Sylvester's tweet makes it seem like he might be available for Louisville's third game against Bowling Green on September 20, but Brohm might play it safe and rest him and get him fully healthy for that crucial showdown at Pitt, depending on what his injury is.

That said, Sylvester putting this post out makes it seem like he might be playing some snaps against Bowling Green, but worst case, he should be good to go against Pitt if everything goes according to plan. This is a massive update for Louisville's offensive line, and hopefully, with the addition of Sylvester and the bye week, it gives them a nice boost.
