Jeff Brohm does it again. Wow, what an offseason for the Louisville Cardinals, as they just made a massive splash in the Transfer Portal. The Cardinals just learned that 3-star transfer Koen Entringer, who played at Iowa, has committed to Louisville football.
The Iowa transfer has been at the top of the Cardinals' wish list for quite some time now, as they earned a visit earlier this week, but he was in a recruiting battle with West Virginia and Texas Tech. The Cards need a lot of help in their secondary after losing four of their five starting defensive backs from a year ago, including Jabari Mack, D'Angelo Hutchinson, and Corey Gordon Jr.
Now, they just got one of the best safeties in the nation and in the Transfer Portal as the Iowa transfer will come to Louisville, ranked No. 129 overall and 12th among safeties.

After being named captain and starting every game in the 2025 season, Entringer joins Louisville to bring veteran leadership and prove he is a force in the secondary.
The Iowa transfer earned 73 tackles, four pass deflections, and one forced fumble, earning him All-Big Ten honorable mention. He logged a combined 100 tackles, five pass deflections, one force fumble, and one interception in his four seasons with Iowa.
Louisville fans saw Vanderbilt transfer and recent wide receiver commit, Tre Richardson recruit Entringer to the Cardinals, and it appeared his work paid off as now the Cardinals just landed its star safety. The Cardinals secondary get a massive boost and Louisville fans can only expect more to come.
The Cardinals have now landed 21 commitments from the portal, including three defensive backs. Louisville earned Santana Wilson's commitment from Texas yesterday, and their first commitment of the offseason was Kentucky transfer DJ Waller. The Cardinals will look to add depth to their secondary, along with a wide receiver and a defensive tackle.
