Louisville football continues to hit home runs in the class of 2026. Jeff Brohm landed the top recruit out of Kentucky last night, as 4-star running back Evan Hampton verbally committed to the Louisville Cardinals.
The Cardinals discovered they were in Hampton's final seven earlier this year. The other six schools that were in contention for this highly recruited running back from Kentucky were Duke, Indiana, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
The Cardinals landed Hampton over some Big 10 powerhouses such as Penn State and Michigan, as both schools made him an official offer last year. Hampton received his official offer from Louisville in June of 2024 and then made a couple of unofficial visits, including to watch Louisville vs Jacksonville State last season.
Louisville football makes massive splash with 4-star RB commitment
Evan Hampton is a massive grab for Louisville. He is ranked as high as No. 333 in the nation, No. 26 in his position, and the top recruit out of Kentucky.
The star running back from the city of Owensboro put up insane numbers at Owensboro High School. Last season, he rushed for 1,609 yards and 20 touchdowns while adding 16 catches for 107 yards with four receiving touchdowns. In his three high school seasons, he has rushed for a total of 3,284 yards and 51 touchdowns.

Jeff Brohm and his staff continues to impress the nation, as Louisville football is entering the elite category in recruiting. Louisville landed Jaydin Broadnax last week, which was the highest commitment for the Cardinals since 2023.
Jeff Brohm is dominating the state of Kentucky as they have now landed two of the top three recruits from the state, and four of the top eight.
The Cardinals now have secured two 4-star commitments and nine 3-stars. Louisville football has shocked many so far as their 11 commitments have them ranked No. 8 in the nation, according to247Sports.
