The Louisville Cardinals officially made an offer to the under-the-radar tight end C.J. Jacobsen. The Utah transfer visited Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals on Monday, April 21, and he announced on social media that, quickly after his visit, the Cardinals made their offer to the tight end.

The Cardinals desperately need a tight end as Louisville lost three of its top four tight ends from last season, including Jamari Johnson and Izayah Cummings, who both entered the transfer portal. The Cardinals are currently expecting a big jump from their former 4-star commit Jaleel Skinner, but after him and Nate Kurisky, the Cardinals don't have much.

It is great to hear that Louisville is looking to address its glaring weakness entering the 2025 season. Now, the Cardinals are one step closer to securing their second player in this transfer portal.

The Cardinals have earned one commitment this offseason as Louisville was able to land Dacari Collins, the North Carolina State transfer. The 6-foot-4 wide receiver addressed just one position Louisville desperately needed, and now the Cardinals quickly shifted to their next concern area, the tight end position.

The Cardinals' tight ends have limited collegiate experience, and while the former 3-star recruit the Cardinals just offered doesn't have much more experience, he is another option for Brohm and will provide much-needed depth. Jacobsen was the No. 2 player out of Idaho and the No. 32 tight end in the nation in his recruiting class.

The Utah transfer is a redshirt freshman who didn't see any playing time in his first two seasons with the Utes. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end would help this thin tight end room tremendously, and while he isn't the most glaring tight end available, he still would be a great option as a tight end for Brohm and quarterback Miller Moss.
