Louisville football had an eye-popping offseason, landing over 32 transfer commitments from the Transfer Portal, including multiple 4-star transfers. On top of Louisville’s transfer haul, Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow worked together and avoided multiple disaster scenarios, finding ways to keep Isaac Brown, Antonio Watts, AJ Green, Stanquan Clark, and other key returners.

So, now Louisville looks like a team that could be a dark horse not just in the ACC, but one that could make a run for its first ACC Title and College Football Playoff appearance. Louisville is often an underrated football program, and with Miami landing Duke transfer Darian Mensah, the Hurricanes are getting a lot of attention in the ACC.

However, CBS Sports college football analyst Brad Crawford broke down who could win the ACC, and the Cardinals got the praise and respect they deserve.

CBS Sports analyst is "super high" on Jeff Brohm and Louisville

Louisville made it to the ACC Championship in Brohm’s first year with the Cardinals, but hasn’t returned since. Now, the Cardinals are looking to get back to Charlotte, and in the interview, Crawford was asked if he believes that Louisville can not just be good but become a legitimate conference contender.

"Back-to-back impressive years from Jeff Brohm. He has been able to do it in the Transfer Portal as well. Louisville has a lot of resources toward talent acquisition, and he has always had solid quarterback play. I think Louisville's schedule this season sets up for a high-end finish in the conference. Louisville is one of the three teams I think that has a chance to win the ACC, including Miami, my preseason ACC No. 1, and SMU. So, I am super high on Louisville, and I think the addition of Lincoln Kienholz at quarterback is huge from Ohio State. And then Isaac Brown, a 1,000-yard running back who is one of the best ball carriers in the country."

This is year No. 4 for Brohm with Louisville, and the Cardinals fans have high expectations. Brohm was given a much-deserved contract extension after he was hearing from big-time schools like Michigan, Penn State, and LSU. Brohm has shown throughout his coaching career that he can win big games like last year when Louisville upset No. 2 Miami on the road, and the year before when Louisville beat Clemson, and in his first year when they beat Notre Dame, but now Brohm has to put a full season together.

The Cardinals have the roster to truly contend for the ACC Title, and they have a favorable schedule, avoiding Miami, Clemson, and Virginia. Louisville is trending as a likely top-25 team in the first AP Poll, which will be released in mid-August.

Crawford is saying the quiet part out loud here: Louisville is one of the three best teams in the ACC, and they have a real shot at winning their first ACC Title and punching their first ticket to the College Football Playoffs.
