The Cardinals entered the game as a 12.5-point favorite and were trending as a legitimate ACC and College Football Playoff contender; however, if Louisville wants to go on any run this year, they must start cleaning up the little things.

Louisville fans have seen this before, and that is what makes it hurt so much. The Cardinals were coming off a huge win over SMU, and everyone was giving Louisville the spotlight they deserved. Kirk Herbstreit was saying Louisville was Miami’s biggest threat in the ACC, and the Cards looked like they had a clear path to Charlotte.
However, Louisville couldn’t take care of business this afternoon, and now the Cards' ACC Title odds take a huge hit.

Entering Louisville’s game against Wake Forest, the Cardinals had the second-highest odds in the conference to win the ACC Championship and make it to Charlotte. The Cardinals' odds rose after their win over SMU, from +230 to make the ACC Championship Game and +850 to win it all, to +130 to make it to the big game and +600 to win their first ACC Title.
However, now that the Cardinals lost their second game of the season to an unranked Wake Forest team, the Cardinals' odds have plummeted. Louisville now has the sixth-highest odds in the ACC, at +2000 to win the ACC and +600 to reach the ACC Championship Game.
