Louisville football star Lincoln Kienholz continues to turn heads against SMU

Louisville football is taking on SMU in a massive ACC showdown. It certainly feels like whoever wins this game will have a much prettier path to the ACC Championship game, and whoever loses will have to watch Miami and company and hope they can make it to Charlotte.

Louisville football star is due for a massive performance against SMU

The Cardinals and Mustangs battled in the first half, with the Mustangs up by three after 30 minutes of football, but one player continues to stand out for Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals. The 4-star transfer from Lincoln, Kienholz, has once again put the team on his back, balled out for the Cardinals, and is earning major recognition on social media.

Lincoln Kienholz makes a ridiculous throw against SMU

Kienholz has had impressive first two and a half games in his first year starting. Before Louisville, he was a 4-star recruit out of high school and rode the bench for Ohio State for three seasons. The Cardinals then gave him the keys to the offense and made him QB1, and he has done nothing but impress.

In the first half vs. SMU, Kienholz has only three incomplete passes, completing 7-of-10 throws for 63 yards and one touchdown. Beyond his passing stats, the dual-threat quarterback has impressed many with his legs for the third straight game, with six carries for 26 yards and one rushing touchdown.

In the first half, one play really stood out to everyone. Kienholz looked to his left, and a corner blitz came from his right; he immediately felt the pressure, escaped the blitz, rolled to his right, and threw a beautiful 33-yard touchdown pass to Lincoln McCoy off one leg.

Before the game, Pat McAfee compared Kienholz to NFL MVP Josh Allen, and while he has only played in two full games, it certainly feels like the Cardinals QB has a path to the NFL. He has at least one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown in all three games, and he has etched his name in Cardinals history for multiple stats.

He was the first Cardinal to throw for 300 yards in his college debut and the first since Lamar Jackson to throw for 300 yards, score two passing touchdowns, and score two rushing touchdowns in a single half.

The 4-star transfer from Ohio State is making a name for himself early, and he is doing it against good competition. Kienholz has a bright future with Louisville, and if he keeps making plays like this 33-yard touchdown to McCoy, he has a path to becoming an NFL QB one day.
