Louisville football addresses its offensive line late Saturday night as the Cardinals fans learned yet another Kentucky Wildcat is transfering to the Louisville Cardinals. Evan Wibberley will be the fifth Kentucky transfer to commit to Louisville this offseason, as he follows defensive back DJ Waller, edge rushers Jacob and Jerod Smith, and wide receiver Montavin Quisenberry.
With Louisville losing Jordan Church to the Transfer Portal recently and losing multiple starters from last season, the offensive line is still one area the fans would like Brohm and Marrow to address. Wibberley will give this offensive line a major boost as the Cardinals desperately needed to add a center, and the Kentucky transfer will have a legitimate chance to start in 2026.

Louisville football lands fifth Kentucky transfer for major position in need
Entering Saturday, one position the Cardinals desperately needed to address was the center position. Louisville lost former starting center Pete Nygra to graduation and the NFL Draft, and while the Cardinals have added big-time pieces this offseason for their offensive line, none have logged center reps.
Well, all that changes with Wibberley's addition. The former Kentucky transfer started his career at Western Kentucky, where he was the Hilltoppers' starting center in 2024 after redshirting in 2022 and playing in just five games in 2023. Wibberley was a dominant center once he made the jump to being the starter, as he logged 939 blocking snaps, 553 block snaps, and allowed zero sacks and just 10 total pressures, earning him All-C-USA honors and making All-C-USA fourth-team from Phil Steele.
Wibberley’s dominant 2024 campaign was represented by his PFF pass blocking grade, as his 86.3 ranked No. 6 among all centers at the FBS level. The Kentucky transfer now joins an elite offensive line transfer class, as the Cardinals have added four other offensive linemen this offseason.
Louisville added Delaware transfer Anwar O'Neal, who ranks No. 1,204 in the portal, Georgia Southern tackle Johnnie Brown III, who ranks No. 1,362 in the portal, Boston College transfer Eryx Daugherty, who ranks No. 223 in the portal, South Carolina transfer Cason Henry, who ranks No. 248 in the portal, and now the 6-foot-5, 230 pound center who ranks No. 902 overall and No. 80 among interior offensive lineman.
