Louisville football's 2025 season has quickly turned underwhelming, as the Cards have dropped three straight and are now 7-4. Louisville got absolutely stomped by SMU yesterday afternoon as the Cards fell 38-6 and ended their ACC season 4-3.
The Cards' 2025 season was an up-and-down roller coaster, as their first two losses came in overtime and their third loss was by one point. Louisville did earn key wins throughout the season, including two massive road wins over Miami and Pitt, which turned out to be two of the best teams in the conference. However, yesterday's win was a crushing loss as Louisville looked like they checked out and are just moving on to the 2026 season.
So, after the Cards dropped their third straight and are going to finish the 2025 season 8-4 or 7-5, depending on next week's showdown with Kentucky, it is time to look ahead to the winter and see which positions Louisville desperately needs from the Transfer Portal.
