4. Defensive Backs
Louisville's defense stepped up big-time this season, despite yesterday's loss. This defense consistently gave the Cards opportunities to win, and the secondary was one of the most surprising units of the season. However, similar to the year before, the Cards are going to lose a lot of their secondary, forcing Brohm and Ron English to hit this position group hard in the Transfer Portal.
Louisville will lose D'Angelo Hutchinson and Jojo Evans, who were two of the Cards' top three leading tacklers this season. Louisville has to get a couple of safeties, as this group is one of the Cardinals' biggest needs this offseason. Hopefully, the Cards can go get someone with some experience and some years of eligibility left.
Louisville will also lose Jabari Mack, Rodney Johnson Jr., and Blake Ruffin, making it clear this group will need attention this offseason. The Cardinals' secondary will see Corey Gordon, Tayon Halloway, Rae'mon Mosby, and Blake Ruffin back, if, of course, they don't transfer out.
