Louisville football has gotten off to a decent start in 2025 so far, but with a loss to Virginia last Saturday, the overall mood for the team and its fanbase is lower than it has been all season long. Louisville lost an absolute heartbreaker to Virginia, and the team won't play again until October 17th against Miami on a Friday night.
Louisville still has some big games left on the year and has a couple of big chances to prove itself to the rest of the country. The Virginia loss is not the end of the season for this team, and Louisville will likely not roll over for the rest of the season.
Here is a look at Louisville's biggest games left in the 2025 football season:
No. 3: Kentucky Wildcats (November 29th)
Louisville will play its last game of the year at L&N Stadium against the Kentucky Wildcats, and yet again, it will be a crucial game for Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals. Kentucky has not looked very good through the first quarter of the season; however, in rivalry games, that doesn't matter.
Kentucky has given Louisville fits in football for the past decade, and last year marked the first time Louisville had beaten Kentucky since 2017. If Louisville starts rattling off wins in October and November and plays down to Kentucky in this game, it could result in a tragedy for the Cardinals. And if Louisville is struggling going into this game, it is a must-win.
Louisville needs to win this game in the season finale, no matter what the outlook of the season is at that point, but winning against Kentucky is always a must for any Louisville football team.
