Louisville football is looking to win its third straight game and improve to 3-1 as the Cardinals take on Wake Forest in just a few hours. The Cards are coming off a monster win over SMU, which was ranked No. 16 at the time, and are now looking to build on it and remain a legitimate ACC and CFP contender.
The Cardinals got crushing news earlier this week when they learned that former All-ACC linebacker and veteran starter Antonio Watts will miss the rest of the season. Watts was a key defender who returned to this Louisville defense and will be a big loss for Jeff Brohm and Mark Ivey.
On offense, this unit will look to stay red-hot as Louisville has scored 38 points or more in all three games, including last week when they put up a dominant 41 on the Mustangs. Now, they will square off with the Demon Deacons in Week 4 as Jeff Brohm looks to secure his third win of the season.

Wake Forest is coming off a 33-20 loss to No. 6 Miami, where Gio Lopez played inspiring football, trying to guide the Demon Deacons to a huge second-half comeback. The star QB got banged up in the matchup against the Hurricanes, which ultimately had him listed as questionable in the initial ACC injury report, but now, as game day approaches, the Demon Deacons' starting QB is probable.
As for the Cards, other than Watts, there are no major injury updates for Brohm and his squad. This offense is the formula for a Louisville win, as Lincoln Kienholz and this elite running back duo have been nearly unstoppable through three games.
While the Demon Deacons kept it close in the second half last week, the Hurricanes gave Louisville and Brohm the blueprint to blow this one open with a dominant first half, where quarterback Darian Mensah completed his first 24 pass attempts.
We see this one being all Louisville, and for the Cardinals offense to cover the spread. Louisville’s explosive offense is just too much for Wake Forest to keep up, and expect Keyjuan Brown to have another big game after his strong SMU performance.
