Louisville basketball recently learned that they are among the final three for the elite 4-star recruit Trevor Manhertz. The Cardinals are in a three-team recruiting battle for Manhertz, as the other two programs include Duke and Indiana, as the power forward cut his list down earlier this month after he earned over seven offers.
Manhertz reclassified to the 2027 class, but there are rumors he is considering returning to the 2026 class, which would make him a big-time target for the Cards, as they have yet to earn that first commitment from the 2026 class.
Louisville and the Cards fans just got more news surrounding Manhertz's recruiting process, as the 4-star forward is set to announce his decision tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time. However, with his decision coming soon, On3 Sports also updated their projections for the 4-star, and it isn't a good sign for Louisville.

On3 Sports gives Louisville basketball a crushing update on 4-star PF
Manhertz is immediatley one of the Cardinals' top targets, whether he stays in the 2027 class or comes back down to the 2026 class. He is ranked as a consensus 4-star recruit out of Christ School in North Carolina. He is not only a unanimous 4-star recruit but also a unanimous top-100 recruit, ranking as high as No. 52 in the 2027 class and No. 15 among power forwards.
However, the Cardinals got a crushing update hours before his decision. Louisville was once the favorite with a 37.0 percent chance of earning his commitment, but since then, On3 has logged a new update giving the Indiana Hoosiers a dominant 92.3 percent chance of earning his commitment.
The Cards appeared to have all the momentum, taking over On3's projections with a 37% chance of landing Manhertz, after they made an offer, earned a visit, and made his final three in just one month. However, Manhertz first visited Indiana in 2025, then Duke on Dec. 31, followed by Louisville on Jan. 4, and is now within 24 hours of announcing his big decision, it appears the Hoosiers are the dominant favorite, according to On3 Sports.
The 4-star forward had an impressive season, averaging 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. He also shot very efficiently 50.4 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Louisville fans will tune in tomorrow afternoon for his decision as they hope to land their third 2027 recruit. Louisville has already landed 4-star Ferlandes Wright and 3-star Isaac Ellis.
For all the latest on Louisville basketball's 2025-26 season and recruiting, stay tuned.
