Louisville football gets a huge recruiting boost as Cardinals fans learn they are still one of the top teams for local 4-star Ja'Hyde Brown. The city of Louisville has multiple players ranked in the class of 2027, including No. 1 overall recruit Allen Evans. The 4-star cornerback has already been on campus as he was at the Louisville season-opener for a gameday visit, and is ranked as a 4-star recruit and No. 38 in the nation.

Another elite 4-star recruit from Louisville is Brown, the No. 8 player out of Kentucky, and just this morning, he cut his list down to 10 schools. Louisville made the updated list and is now in a heated recruiting battle with Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, Indiana, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Oregon State, and Maryland.

The Louisville native earned over 25 offers, and, obviously, big-time schools like Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Auburn made his updated list. Louisville did beat out Power Four teams like Pitt, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and some others.

The 4-star wide receiver ranks as high as No. 356 in the nation, the 47th wide receiver, and the No. 7 recruit out of Kentucky in the 2027 class. He currently plays for Christian Academy of Louisville, where he logged 98 receptions for 1,556 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns.

Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow are going to have their work cut out for them trying to earn his commitment amid SEC giants like Bama and Auburn, and two of the top rising programs, Vanderbilt and Indiana. On3 Sports currently gives Kentucky the best chance of earning his commitment, but Marrow and Brohm have a strong track record of dominating the state, securing four of the top eight commitments in the 2026 class.

The Cardinals have two commitments in the 2027 recruiting class with quarterback Jack Sorgi and wide receiver Chuck Alexander Jr. The Cardinals hope they can strike first and land Brown’s commitment and their first 4-star. Hopefully, he can be the first domino to fall their way from the in-state recruits and help bring Evans to Louisville.
