Louisville basketball has reached out to some of the best transfers in the Transfer Portal, including the No. 1 overall player in the portal, Flory Bidunga, and the No. 16 overall transfer Jackson Shelstad. Louisville will host both transfers for a crucial official visit on Friday, April 9, and the Cardinals just received a huge update ahead of it.

Predicting 2 Louisville basketball Transfer Portal commits coming this week

Shelstad entered the portal after playing three seasons with Oregon, and with visits lined up with Louisville and Arizona, the Cardinals are in a fierce two-team battle for the former 5-star recruit and 4-star transfer. However, 247Sports just logged a Crystal Ball prediction just before Shelstad visits Louisville, and the Cardinals fans are going to go into a frenzy.

Louisville basketball lands Crystal Ball prediction for Jackson Shelstad

Recently, three experts from 247Sports logged a Crystal Ball prediction for Shelstad, with all three predicting the 4-star point guard to commit to Louisville. Of those three insiders making the predictions, one is 247 Sports Basketball Analyst and well-respected Travis Branham, one is Arizona Insider Jason Scheer, and the other is Duke Insider Chad Lykins.

With Shelstad having a visit lined up with Arizona next week, it will be crucial for Kelsey to seal the deal before the Oregon transfer leaves tomorrow. The Wildcats were the early favorites as many thought the 4-star transfer wanted to play on the West Coast, but it appears Kelsey is working his portal magic and might have found his star guard.

Kelsey landed three elite guards last year, all of whom ranked inside the top 25 of Transfer Portal rankings, and it appears he is trending to land his first this offseason. Shelstad ranks as high as No. 16 overall in the portal and No. 3 among point guards.

The former 5-star recruit ranked as high as No. 24 overall and No. 6 among point guards in the 2023 recruiting class, and he immediately showed flashes of 5-star potential his true freshman season with the Ducks. He went on to make the Pac-12 All-Freshman team after averaging 12.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc.

In his sophomore season, he improved by making the All-Big Ten Third-Team after averaging 13.7 points while shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc, and splashed a career high 66 3’s. He was on pace to be one of the top guards in the Big Ten this past season after making 33 3’s in just 12 games and averaging career highs of 15.6 points, 4.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game, but his season was cut short with a hand injury.

Tomorrow is a huge day for Louisville, as it appears the Cardinals are inching closer to their first commitment, and it would be one that could put Louisville on the right path to contend for an ACC Title.
