Louisville football fans have high expectations entering the 2025 season, as the fans believe this Jeff Brohm squad has what it takes to return to Charlotte and even possibly make history. The Cardinals will look to win the program's first ACC Title and their first conference title since 2016.
The Cardinals' roster has what it takes to contend, and my experts agree, despite what the ACC Preseason Media Poll said. The Cardinals were projected to finish No. 5 in the ACC by the media, likely due to their schedule. It will be challenging for Louisville to survive this schedule, but they do have the pieces and skills to get it done.
Louisville currently has the third-best odds to win the ACC behind the Clemson Tigers and the Miami Hurricanes. The fans have their eyes set on the program's first appearance in the College Football Playoffs, and when center Pete Nygra was asked about the Cardinals' potential, he let the nation know this team is poised for a CFP berth.

Louisville's Pete Nygra reveals the glaring truth on the Cardinals' CFP dreams
If Louisville wants to make it to the 2025 College Football Playoffs, its best chance is to make it to Charlotte and win the game. The Cardinals' schedule is brutal compared to other teams. So if Louisville can survive and advance and punch their ticket to Charlotte and beat most likely Clemson or Miami, then they would automatically secure their first berth to the College Football Playoffs.
When Nygra was asked how realistic that goal is, he made sure fans and the nation know that this team is confident and truly believes they have what it takes to make history this upcoming season.
"Absolutley. A lot of talent, a lot of hard workers, good culture," Nygra stated on Wednesday about whether this team can make it to the CFP. "The group we have is a special group, and I think we have a lot of returning guys from last year, and we are going to be a good team this year and someone to watch out for, for sure."
Nygra and his offensive group are loaded. The Cardinals will have a solid veteran presence on the front line, followed by a veteran quarterback who will look to be Brohm's next quarterback star in his lone transfer season. And of course, Isaac Brown and Chris Bell will be the two stars of the offense, making this whole offense nearly an unstoppable monster.
Brohm returned many stars from last season on both sides of the ball, and he brought in solid pieces for the defense to add much-needed depth in the defensive back room. Louisville fans and players believe this is their year, they get over the hump, and not only return to Charlotte but end the program's starvation for that ACC crown.
