The Louisville football program recently dropped its first game of the 2025 season. The Cardinals fell 30-27 to the Virginia Cavaliers this past Saturday in an ugly overtime loss, and when the fans look back at the game, they become irritated very quickly, as this offense cost them the game.
The defense stepped up and did its part, giving up just 16 points. However, the offense once again committed costly turnovers, and this time, it couldn't fight back and pull off a comeback win. The Cardinals dominated Eastern Kentucky and Bowling Green, but against James Madison, Pitt, and Virginia, this team has not passed the eye test.
Louisville is 4-1 going into their second bye of the 2025 season, but the fans are not happy with head coach Jeff Brohm. The city and the program believe in the Cards' head coach, but the fans are disappointed with how unprepared this team is entering their big-time games.
Louisville football fans are fed up after the loss
The Cardinals' first test of the 2025 season was technically against James Madison. The Cardinals were a two-touchdown favorite, but the Dukes have a solid program, and some feared the Cardinals were on upset watch. Well, the Cardinals were unprepared for the all-out blitzes and were trailing 7-6 at halftime, and had to rely on an 78-yard Isaac Brown rushing touchdown to lead the Cardinals to a victory.
Then, against Pitt, Louisville showed up and laid a massive egg in the first quarter, once again getting off to an incredibly slow start and trailing 17-0 after the first quarter. Louisville clawed back and pulled off a historic win, but the fans were once again underwhelmed with the win and the preparation.
Brohm consistently not having this team ready to play is frustrating. Not going out and taking this game at home, falling behind Pitt 17-0, JMU mediocre win…long season ahead.

And now, the Cardinals' preparation and dumb mistakes against the best team they faced cost them their first loss. The Cardinals fans are underwhelmed by the team's 2025 season so far, despite its 4-1 start. The fans know they still have their most challenging games remaining, and with Miami up next, they fear this season could become a disaster in a hurry.
Not once this season has the team looked ready for a game. Tighten up or his seats getting warm by the end of the season.

The Cardinals must get off to a better start when they play Miami, SMU, and Clemson, or the game could get ugly. Louisville fans are outraged after this loss, and they have a reason. The Cardinals' offense should be dominant and one of the best in the ACC, but due to issues with their offensive line and Miller Moss's turnover problems, Louisville continues to struggle, especially in the first half.
The Cardinals scored just seven points in the first quarter against JMU, Pitt, and Virginia combined. They pick things up in the second quarter, but the Louisville fans are calling Brohm out and want this offense to reach its potential, and for that to happen, they have to start scoring in the first quarter.
Brohm has pulled off some historic wins since arriving at Louisville, having beaten Miami, Notre Dame, and Clemson in his first two seasons. With the Hurricanes up next, the fans are begging for Brohm to have this team prepared and get off to a hot start, or Miami might make it ugly real quick.
