Louisville basketball fans are continuously checking up on two players: Tyran Stokes and Taylen Kinney. Louisville is a finalist for 5-star point guard Tay Kinney, as the Cardinals are just eight days away from hearing if they earned his commitment.
As for Stokes, the Cardinals fans haven't heard much. Louisville was once the dominant favorite, and now it is just waiting to listen to any good news. Cardinals fans are beginning to worry more and more as not only are multiple reporters predicting Kentucky will steal the No. 1 recruit out of Louisville's backyard, but now he continues to go on more visits, making it seem like maybe Louisville isn't in the driver's seat after all.

Tyran Stokes visits a Big 10 giant for the weekend
Louisville fans were once extremely confident that the nation's No. 1 overall recruit was going to commit to his home city and play where he grew up. However, after Kentucky, Kansas, USC, and now Oregon all earned visits since Louisville's back in 2024, the Cardinals' dominant lead has quickly vanished, making the Cardinals' fans worry.
The Rivals Joe Tipton reported this week that Stokes is on an official visit to Oregon, marking it as his fifth official visit, and making it seem like the race is still up in the air. The Ducks and the Trojans are two teams that seem far behind the Cardinals, but with their recent visits, Louisville fans don't really know where they stand anymore.

While Louisville has made sure to do their part and pay visits to Stokes since the in-house visits opened up, it simply hasn't gained much noise or traction. Stokes visiting Oregon isn't just a worry that the Ducks could make a push and gain some traction; it is a worry that he is still taking visits and not cutting his list down, and doesn't seem like he is all-in on one school.
And with the Cardinals not getting any attention recently, Louisville fans are beginning to feel a pit in their stomach, and that fear of striking out on a Louisville native who is a consensus 5-star and a unanimous No. 1 overall recruit is beginning to grow more and more.
