The Louisville Cardinals have secured four commitments from the 2025 class, with three of them coming from the international stage. Louisville basketball is expected to have one of the best teams in college basketball after their massive offseason, and now solid four commits from the 2025 cycle.
The Cards' four commitments will be led by the consensus 5-star point guard and McDonald's All-American star Mikel Brown Jr. The Cardinals' next best commitment will be the 4-star power forward, Sananda Fru, who is coming over from Germany.
The 6-foot-10 athletic power forward officially inked with the Cardinals this morning after being committed to Louisville for four months. Fru committed to the Cardinals back on Feb. 11, making this day long overdue. However, now that it is officially over, head coach Pat Kelsey has extremely high expectations for the 4-star commit.

Fru is coming to the Cardinals program from Loewen Braunschweig, a team he played for four seasons in the German BBL. The power forward is ranked as high as a 4-star recruit and a top 25 recruit in the nation in the 2025 cycle.
Louisville put out a statement about the newest Cardinal, and Kelsey had nothing but high praise for the 21-year-old in his statement.
"Sananda is an impact player for our program from Day 1," Kelsey said in his official statement Monday afternoon. "At 6-11, 255 with 7-4 wingspan he is an imposing physical presence with athleticism, skill and basketball IQ."
The power forward started in 35 of 39 games for Loewen Braunschweig last season and put up impressive numbers as he averaged 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 64.5% from the field. His impressive season earned him the Basketball Bundesliga Best German Young Player, which is an award given to the best player in the league under 22 years old.
Kelsey went on to state just how impactful Fru is going to be in the Cardinals uniform and actually sees massive potential in one area moving forward for the power forward.
""He impacts winning on both ends of the floor. He is very good in the pick and roll as a lob threat and finisher, but I believe his game is evolving before our eyes as a viable three-point threat as well. He has very good shooting mechanics and in our system his confidence in that area will skyrocket. He attacks closeouts and is a productive player getting downhill at the rim on drives. Defensively, he blocks shots and his ability to move his feet makes him a very good 'switch big,' which is extremely valuable in modern basketball.""Pat Kelsey
Fru competed at the FIBA Europe Cup, where he started in three of the six games, averaging 15.5 points per game on 69.6 percent shooting from the field. He also chipped in 5.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.
This elite power forward has the all tools to be the Cardinals starting center next season and help lead Louisville to their first National Championship since 2013.
