The Louisville football team has a bye week this week. It's an early week for them to rest and recover a bit before they take on the meat of their schedule. It's a good week for them to figure out what their identity is going to be for the rest of the season.

Last week, some Louisville football fans had some problems being able to watch the team. DirecTV's dispute with Disney left fans without access to ESPN and ABC. Both channels are part of the ACC TV contract. Louisville played on ESPN+ against Jacksonville State last week.

For a while, it looked like there was no end in sight for this dispute. Usually, these things get done before the football season starts. At the very least, they get done after the first weekend. That was not the case this year. Fortunately, Cardinals fans don't need to worry any longer.

Louisville Cardinals fans can now watch them for the rest of the season without too many issues. DirecTV and Disney have finally worked out a deal. All Disney properties have been immediately restored. That means that college football fans will be able to watch their teams uninterrupted.

We still don't know what network the Cardinals will be on for all of their games. If they keep winning games and moving up the polls, they will be on ESPN and ABC much more often. That's because they will be one of the marquee teams in the ACC and could win the conference.

It's good that this deal is finally done. The fans of football everywhere can now watch their teams without any channels being blacked out or anything like that. It's a shame that it even took this long. Next week, there will be no issue for Cardinals fans anywhere watching them take on Georgia Tech.
