The Louisville basketball team is in a new era. Pat Kelsey is trying to erase the ugly recent history that the Cardinals have been through. Winning 12 games combined in the last two seasons is a pretty hard fall for a program that won a national title just 11 years ago.

In order for Kelsey to turn things around, he needs some top recruits. NIL will certainly help with his ability to land these recruits. The more five-star recruits the Cardinals can get, the faster this team will be good again. Another five-star recruit has Louisville in his final list of schools.

Chris Cenac, a five-star recruit out of Branson, Missouri, has Louisville on his final list of schools. Cenac is 6'10 and 230 pounds and is listed as the best center in the 2025 recruiting class. He has narrowed down his list to 12 schools that he is still considering.

Other than Louisville, Cenac has UConn, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Baylor, Tennessee, Houston, Texas, Arkansas, Michigan State, and Kentucky. He is considering a wide spectrum of schools. Louisville is the only ACC school that he's considering though, which helps.

Landing the best center in the class would be a big move for the Louisville Cardinals. To land a big man of that caliber would change the trajectory of this program. Of course, there is still a lot of work to do in order to land Cenac. He won't make his decision for quite a while.

Cenac should be one of the top priorities for Kelsey and his staff moving forward. A good showing this season would go a long way to getting Cenac to choose the Louisville basketball program. The Cardinals are staying on recruits radars, and that's never a bad thing.
