The Louisville basketball team is in a new era. This season, that new era means a completely new roster. No one from last year is back and Pat Kelsey is trying to bring some top recruits into the program for future seasons. There are several who are interested in the program.

One of those recruits who is interested just had an official visit over the weekend. That recruit is Shelton Henderson. Henderson is a four-star recruit from the state of Texas. He's listed as the fifth-best small forward in the country. He decided to visit Louisville and the Cardinals have a real shot at getting him.

Henderson stands at 6'6 and 220 pounds, so he has the perfect size at the small forward spot. That's one of the big things that drew the Cardinals towards him. Henderson is early in his recruiting process and is still considering several other programs in addition to Louisville.

In addition to the Louisville Cardinals, Henderson is considering Duke, Texas, and Houston. He has visits set up to Texas and Duke next month. Once all of his official visits are done, that's when he will likely make a final decision on where he will end up playing college basketball.

Landing Henderson would be a great get for the Cardinals. He is a very good playmaker for someone his size so the ball won't stick when he gets it. He can get other people involved on offense, but that's not the only thing he does. Henderson is a great defender too.

Henderson's versatility would give Louisville a player who can always be on the court in close games because other teams won't be able to hunt him. He can score and defend, which is the rarest breed of player that there is.
