JJ Traynor announced he will be entering the transfer portal this morning and it was the 4th departure from the the team since the portal opened yesterday.

Traynor was a senior this season at Louisville, and was looking to have his best season for the Cardinals until getting injured, which resulted in him having to get a season ending shoulder injury.

Traynor also participated in the senior day activities during Louisville's senior day, even though he had another year or possibly two left of eligibility because of covid and his injury this season. Since he participated in the senior day ceremony it was looking more than likely that he would transfer once the portal opened, and that is exactly what happened.

Of course Traynor could always return to Louisville, it is looking unlikely, as he has not had much success winning here since he became a mainstay of the rotation. Which is disheartening to hear, since he was a local Bardstown recruit for the Cardinals.

This has to be my favorite dunk of Traynor's time here at Louisville, which happened to be the night that Louisville honored the 2013 championship team:

It would be good for the program if Traynor decided to come back, considering he improved every season and having a hometown kid is always a plus. We hope Traynor has success wherever he decides to go in the future, no matter where that might be.
