Pat Kelsey's hard work has seemingly paid off, as he landed a top 40 2024 prospect in 4-star forward Khani Rooths. Rooths was a former commit to Michigan, but after their head coach Juwan Howard was fired he decommitted and opened his recruitment back up.
Rooths had offers from many high profile schools during his recruitment from teams like Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Miami, Florida State, Mississippi State, USF, Virginia Tech, and Xavier.
Rooths will come in as a 6-foot 8-inch power forward from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He is also ranked as the 33rd best player, 6th best power forward, and 8th best player out of Florida in the class of 2024 according to 247sports.
Rooths will add great depth to the team, and will provide Kelsey with another big man on roster to join Kesean Pryor and James Scott. Louisville needed some more depth for the power forward and center positions, and that is exactly what Kelsey has brought in the past 2 days.
Rooths officially came to visit Louisville on May 14th, and in the next two days Louisville would offer him and get a commitment from Rooths as well.
Kelsey is getting his squad together, and another big man commitment would more than likely complete the roster if Kelsey can get one in the next week or so.
