Louisville Basketball vs. Syracuse Preview
By Caleb Hall
The Louisville Cardinals will host the Syracuse Orange on Saturday night, and they will be looking to get some much needed revenge on the Orange since losing to Syracuse earlier this month at JMA Wireless Dome.
The Orange won the last game between Louisville and Syracuse in a thrilling 94-92 game, and it ultimately came down to a goaltending call that in the end went in Syracuse's way to win the game by 2. The Cardinals could not seem to get anything going on the defensive end against the Orange, but neither could they. It will all come down to defense in this game, and if Louisville can play even below average defense they have a shot to win this game.
It will also come down to if the Cardinals can keep the offensive focus they had last time out against Syracuse. The Cardinals made 11 threes in the game, and ended up shooting 53% from the field overall. However, they held Syracuse to a high end 60% shooting and 45% from that night.
If Louisville can keep the defense somewhat in check and keep up the offense performance they had last time against the Cuse then the Cardinals should be in good shape.
Louisville has been in a bit of a slump recently and the cloud around Kenny Payne has certainly put some drama around Louisville basketball as a whole. If Louisville can stay away from the noise outside the program then they should be able to hold their own against Syracuse.
It certainly be an interesting night of basketball for the better or the worse in the Ville Saturday night.
