The Louisville Cardinals faced the North Carolina Tar Heels tonight, and while UNC seemed to be in control of most of the game, Louisville had some great moments in the 2nd half.

Louisville started out sloppy on defense as UNC went up on the Cardinals early and had a 17 point halftime lead. However, Louisville came out very well in the 2nd half, as they cut the Tar Heel lead to just 5 and the team we had been seeing in spurts the past few weeks had come to life.

But that came to an end, as UNC stormed back and never looked back in the lasy 6 minutes of the game, as UNC won 86-70.

Armando Bacot, RJ Davis, and oddly enough former Cardinal Jae'lyn Withers had good games. With Wither scoring 15 and 10 against his former time, which was very bittersweet for all Cardinal fans. Skyy Clark and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield had 16 & 15 points, while Mike James fell back down to earth from his hot shooting the past 3 games. As he only dropped 9 points on 3/10 shooting.

Louisville again had moments of great basketball, but they were muddled inbetween segments of heavy turnovers, bad defense, and lackluster rotations. Kenny Payne seems to be figuring out this team, and while they are not winning they are improving significantly.

However, moral victories are not what Louisville fans are looking for this point in the season, and for Payne to win back the fanbase they need to start winning games instead of losing close ones.

This all can start at Wake Forest this saturday at noon, hopefully the Cards can pull another out on the road.
