After proving himself against Georgia Tech in the prior week, fans were excited for Brohm's return home and the hope of the return of powerful Louisville Football. The team and the coaching staff were ready to prove this against the Murray State Racers with coach Dean Hood.

L&N Stadium was filled to the brim with 45,000 fans ready to witness Jeff Brohm's first game back in Louisville with the Cardinals. This first home game of an exciting season was supported by Cards fans in full blackout gear. This energy carried through the first half where Louisville scored four touchdowns and completed field goals on the Racers. One of the highlights being Jawhar Jordan's 72 yard run right before halftime.

The Cardinals kept their electricity through the second half - demolishing the Murray State Racers with a score of 56-0. This was a perfect environment for the first home game of this new era of Louisville Football. The stands were packed and the fans were happy to be cheering for a new coach that has seemed to whipped the Louisville talent into shape.

Jeff Brohm opened the newly renamed L&N Stadium with a bang and gave fans a good look at what the rest of the season would look like, continuing the season 2-0.
