After a couple of defensive pieces on the Louisville defense departed during the spring portal head football coach Jeff Brohm has added quite a few new faces. The newest player on the team is defensive end transfer from Middle Tennesse State Richard Kinley.

Kinley has spent all of his playing career at MTSU, even though he had entered the portal before last season he opted to return back to MTSU to play under a new head coach. Injuries have also been an issue for Kinley in the past. However, he played in 9 games in 2023 and looks to be trending upwards.

Kinley had 20 overall tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 3 pass deflections, and a fumble recovery last season in 2023. He should be a soild addition to what is already a deep defense in 2024.
