2. Donald Chaney

The running back for the Louisville Cardinals this year will be Donald Chaney. Chaney is a transfer running back from Miami. He hasn't been a starting running back before, so this will be a new thing. He is the guy who will be the focal point of the offense early in the year.

Chaney will be the guy who gets the most carries of anyone on the roster, but he certainly won't be the only one. Still, he's the most important one. Without any established number-one receiver, they are going to be running the ball a lot until they figure out who can be counted on in important moments.

While Austin Peay doesn't exactly have a great defense, watching how many carries Chaney gets in this game could be a hint at how many carries he could get a game. This could be a year that the Cardinals need to just control the clock and win using their defense.

I expect that Chaney will have a good game in the opener against the Governors. I expect him to have over 100 yards rushing. That would be a great sign for the future of this team if he does get that many yards. The Cardinals need a strong running game this season more than they did last year.

The final player to watch in this game is one of the wide receivers who needs to step up, especially in the first month of the year.
