Louisville football vs. Austin Peay: Three bold predictions
By Ryan Stano
3. Louisville will hold Austin Peay to 10 points or fewer
Louisville's starting defense is one of the best in the conference. They have the best pass rusher in the ACC in Ashton Gillotte and they return a ton of guys from last year's team. The Cardinals are going to be hard to score against all year long and that's especially true against an FCS team.
I don't expect the Governors to be able to move the ball a lot on Saturday. Their offense just doesn't have the firepower it needs to be able to keep up with Louisville. The Cardinals should be able to keep Austin Peay from scoring multiple touchdowns in this game.
The only reason why I think Austin Peay can even score one touchdown is because of the end of the game. Once the backups get some mop-up duty, I think the Governors might be able to pop a touchdown. I don't see them being able to score on Louisville's starters though.
If Austin Peay scores more than 17 points on this defense, then the Cardinals might have some problems for the rest of the season. This team is supposed to be led by the defense all year. I doubt that happens though. 10 points or less is what this team should shoot for.
If these three bold predictions come true, Louisville football fans should be very happy. It means that their team is ready for the season ahead.
