The Louisville football team is taking on who could be their toughest opponent. Notre Dame is a hard team to face in South Bend. The Cardinals have a shot to announce they are a CFP candidate with a win in this game. Louisville is certainly good enough to win this game.

What could derail this game for both teams is some poor weather. Both teams have gotten lucky so far this season with how the weather has gone. Louisville has had some iffy weather forecasts but they have been able to get through the schedule unscathed so far.

Hurricane Helene is coming through the southern part of the country as we speak. It looks like it's going to affect a large part of the country this weekend. It will drop a bunch of rain and make it very windy, even as it falls apart. Will it end up affecting the game this weekend?

Louisville football team will escape Hurricane Helene's wrath

It looks like the Hurricane won't quite make it up to South Bend. A lot of the rest of the state of Indiana will get hit with the rain, but not South Bend. According to the Weather Channel, it will be in the low 70s at kickoff and it will be cloudy. The wind might be the only thing that is a little bit of a factor.

The wind will be blowing 10-15 mph sustained and it could gust up to 25 mph throughout the day. That could be a good thing for the Cardinals. Part of Louisville's gameplan will be to make Riley Leonard beat him with his arm instead of his legs. Windy conditions could hurt that ability.

The weather won't be too bad, so we should get a well-played game between these two teams who are in the discussion to make the College Football Playoff.
