Things are not looking well for Kenny Payne

The Louisville Cardinals fell to the Virginia Tech Hokies tonight, and it was not pretty to say the least.

Louisville fell to the Hokies 80-64 and were once down 23 at one point in the 2nd half. Virginia Tech made 13 threes in the game and shot nearly 45% from beyond the perimeter, while the Cardinals shot 39% from three. Louisville's defense was below average tonight at best and the lack of effort and motivation is what is most frustrating with this team.

When Louisville starts to play well offensively, like they did in the 2nd half, the defense lets them down almost every time, and that proved to be the case tonight against the Hokies. Even players like Ty-Laur Johnson would make good plays and then follow them up with lackluster play on the other side of the court.

Kenny Payne had little room for struggle this season and an 8-22 (3-16) season is the opposite of success. A change is seemingly imminent and it will likely only be a matter of time before a change is made.
