Louisville Lands Charleston Transfer Kobe Rodgers
By Caleb Hall
Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey landed his 9th transfer for next season last night, as College of Charleston transfer Kobe Rodgers committed to Louisville last night.
Rodgers has said he plans to redshirt next season due to a left leg injury he had left season, and will rehab during his redhirt year. While getting another point guard for the roster is good, Louisville will now have 2 players next season that will redshirt due to injuries. This will help for the future of the roster but Louisville needs players now, not ones for 2 years down the road.
Kelsey also needs to start going after big men and forwards more than guards, as Louisville has nearly twice as many guards then they do big men and centers.
However, Rodgers did have quite a good season at Charleston last season. As he averaged 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while shooting 50% from the field and 45% from three last season.
Rodgers will be a good addition to this Louisville roster overall, hopefully he is still around when it comes time for him to play in 2025-26.
