Louisville baseball has seemed to be in a slump all season long, and that continued to be apparent in the 3-0 sweep that happened this weekend on the road against #8 North Carolina.

Louisville lost all three games to UNC on the road, and the matchups were not all that well contested either. Louisville lost by the following scores: 14-4, 6-4. and 16-7.

The only semi-close game that Louisville played was the 2nd game of the series, and outside of that the games were very lopsided. UNC outscored Louisville 36-15 over the course of the series, and for Cardinal baseball that is flat out embarrassing.

While Louisville had moments where the pitching looked good, and there were several good hits and home runs, it wasn't enough to call it a good overall product. The inconsistency of the UNC series has seemingly been what Louisville's season has been since opening day.

UNC seemed to get whatever they wanted most of the time, and Louisville's pitching really showed just how bad it really was by allowing 36 points in 3 games.

While there may be rumors about coaching and if the Cardinals will make it to Omaha or not, the real focus of this team right now should just be on a game by game basis.

Louisville baseball just needs to get back to the basics: winning.
