Jeff Brohm does not seem to miss when it comes to offseason news and today the Cardinals learned that cornerback Quincy Riley would be returning for his 2024 campaign. Getting Riley back is the equivalent of getting a 5-star transfer in the portal, that is how good Riley can be for the Cardinals.

Not only will Louisville return Riley, but they will also return their best defensive player Ashton Gillotte, as the defense should look to be deadly once again in 2024.

Riley improved in almost every aspect of the game last season as he moved into a permanent starter role, and I would expect him to improve even more in 2024. In 2023 Riley had 12 PBUs, 3 interceptions, 49 tackles, and although he was snubbed by the ACC he was still given an honorable mention for the All-ACC football teams.

Riley has the capability to one of the best players in the ACC next season, at least on the defensive side, and the fact that Brohm was able to bring him back for 2024 is huge for the defense.

If Riley continues to improve and play like he did in his last 2 seasons at Louisville he could be looking at being a highly touted draft pick come next year. Not to mention he could help the Cardinals go back to the ACC championship in 2024, and possibly even an expanded playoff.
